Cleveland’s Online Community Marketplace for Upscale Childrens’ Resale
Cleveland’s Online Community Marketplace for Upscale Childrens’ Resale
Upsale’s mission is to simplify the resale of children’s items by creating a streamlined, community-driven platform that helps families save money, reduce waste, and support one another—one gently loved item at a time.
Upsale began with a mom’s mission to make buying and selling kids’ items easier and more enjoyable. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our founder, Kayla Woitkowski, created a local Facebook group to help families in Cleveland connect and give new life to their gently loved children’s items. What started as a simple idea quickly took off—growing into a thriving community of over 5,500 members.
As the group flourished, so did the need for a better, more streamlined experience. That’s when Kayla set out to build something new—an intuitive, family-first platform that takes the hassle out of kids’ resale.
In May 2025, CLE Upsale was born: a smarter way to shop, sell, and support local families.
Upsale is a local online marketplace that makes it easy for families in Greater Cleveland to buy and sell gently used children’s items—everything from clothes and toys to strollers and gear.
Anyone in the Greater Cleveland area can sign up to buy or sell on Upsale! Your home address must be in an approved zip code within the designated radius of Cleveland. Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, or just looking for great local deals, you’re welcome here.
It’s free to sign up and browse! Transaction fees help cover platform maintenance and development.
Upsale Fee Transparency
At Upsale, we’re committed to being fully transparent about our pricing—no hidden fees, no surprises. Our tiered fee structure is designed to keep costs fair and sustainable for both buyers and sellers while supporting the continued growth of the platform.
Here’s how it works:
Seller Fees (based on item price):
Under $20: 12%
$20-$50: 10%
Over $50: 8%
Buyer Fees (flat structure):
5% of the item price + $0.99 per transaction
Why the Fees Exist
These fees help cover transaction processing costs (including PayPal’s standard fees of roughly 3.49% + $0.49 per transaction and $0.99 payout fee), as well as platform operations, development, and customer support.
Without these fees, we wouldn’t be able to offer a secure, user-friendly experience and continue to invest in feature and enhancements.
Why a Tiered Structure?
We know price matters—especially when buying and selling secondhand. That’s why our seller fees decrease as the item price increases. This approach ensures affordability for buyers and maximizes earnings for sellers, all while helping Upsale stay sustainable as we grow.
We’re building the Upsale marketplace together, and your trust means everything. If you have questions, ideas, or feedback, reach out anytime at the Contact Us section below. We’re always listening.
If something isn’t working right, please contact us to report it. Upsale is currently in beta version and we appreciate your help in improving the platform!
Upsale uses secure, integrated payment options through PayPal to keep transactions safe and convenient. You’ll be able to pay or get paid directly through the platform. Sellers must set up a PayPal to receive payments.
To ensure secure and reliable transactions between buyers and sellers, Upsale uses PayPal as its primary payment platform. Setting up a PayPal account allows you to receive payments quickly, protect your sales with PayPal’s seller protections, and gives buyers confidence when purchasing your items. It’s free to set up and only takes a few minutes—plus, it keeps your personal financial information private during transactions.
Upsale is designed specifically for higher end kids’ -related items. Listings should be in good condition or better and appropriate for resale. We reserve the right to remove listings that don’t meet our standards.
At Upsale, we’re committed to offering a curated, high-quality shopping experience for families. To maintain our standard, all items listed must meet the following criteria:
1. Good Condition Only (or better)
Items must be clean, gently used or new, and free of major defects. We do not accept products with stains, excessive wear, rips, or missing pieces.
2. High-End or Desirable Brands
Upsale focuses on elevated, stylish, and sought-after brands. Items should reflect a modern, high-quality aesthetic. The acceptability of brands is determined at the sole discretion of the Upsale team to ensure consistency across the platform.
3. Family-Focused
Listings should be relevant to parents, children, and home life — including clothing, gear, toys, and décor that align with the Upsale community’s needs and tastes.
We reserve the right to remove listings that don’t meet these standards. Thank you for helping us keep Upsale a trusted and elevated marketplace for local families!
1. Use Clear, Well-Lit Photos:
Take photos in natural light and show the item from multiple angles. Include close-ups of any flaws.
2. Write Descriptive Titles & Captions:
Mention brand, size, condition, and any important details (e.g., “like new,” “minor stain,” “smoke-free home”). The Upsale feed's search bar pulls from the posting title!
3. Be Honest About Condition:
Transparency builds trust. Clearly note wear, damage, or missing pieces.
4. Price Fairly:
Check similar items on the feed to get a feel for competitive pricing.
5. Post Seasonally:
List items relevant to the current or upcoming season (e.g., coats in fall, swimwear in spring).
6. Bundle for Value:
Group similar items (e.g., 3T girls’ tops) to offer better value and increase appeal.
7. Stay Active & Responsive:
Take action quickly during the in-app pick-up coordination process.
8. Follow the Guidelines:
Stick to approved item categories and keep your posts family-friendly and respectful.
By following these tips, you’ll boost visibility and build trust with buyers in the Upsale community!
We take safety seriously and are committed to building a trusted community. Soon, Upsale will launch a user verification process to help validate user identities and reduce the risk of fraudulent activity. We’re also working on a user reporting feature that will allow our community to flag suspicious behavior, helping us investigate and take action when needed.
That said, all transactions on Upsale are peer-to-peer, and users are buying and selling at their own risk. Upsale is not liable for any disputes, scams, or issues that arise between users. We strongly recommend meeting in public places, verifying items before payment, and using our secure payment options whenever possible.
Your awareness and good judgment are key to creating a safe experience for everyone.

Congratulations on your sale! Next, use the in-app scheduling tool to connect with the buyer and arrange pickup or delivery. It’s quick and easy, and helps keep everything organized in one place.
To reschedule, go to the “Me” tab, find your purchase, and click “Reschedule” next to the item. The seller will be notified of your request for a new time.
Please be courteous and provide as much advance notice as possible. We strongly discourage rescheduling within 12 hours of the originally agreed-upon time.
If you arrive for a porch pick-up and the item isn’t out, please knock on the door to check if the seller is home. If there’s no answer or the item still isn’t available, contact Upsale Support so we can help resolve the issue.
We’re working on adding a comment feature to product posts — it’s on Upsale’s roadmap! In the meantime, we encourage sellers to include detailed descriptions so buyers have the information they need to make a confident decision before claiming an item.
